  1. Hey Jay,
Great episode. Even though you’re no longer a part of Horror Movie Podcast, I’m glad to still be able to hear your dulcet tones on a semi-regular basis.

I was wary of the new Child’s Play, but based on your recommendation, I’ll definitely be checking it out. I’m also looking forward to Annabelle Comes Home. The Conjuring-verse is a bit hit or miss, overall, but at its worst it provides horror comfort food that is always entertaining, if not groundbreaking.

I’m glad you’ve found a way to keep producing content that, seemingly, works better with your schedule.

  2. Hi Jay! I’ve been a listener of yours since 2017 on Horror Movie Podcast. Your presence on that podcast is missed but I’m really enjoying
catching up on your new solo casts
w/ Considering the Cinema. I wish you great success for this show and you have become one of my favorite film critics especially in regards to your cerebral assessments of horror films. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is my second favorite horror film of all time and I agree The Village is severely underrated. If I missed this on one of your previous CTC episodes I apologize but do you take any film or theme suggestions on this show as on your previous podcasts at this time?

  3. Your review of Annabelle Comes Home is absolutely spot-on. The repetition of all the ghost encounters became tiresome. The isolated adventures that each character goes through within the house seemed contrived as well. The ultra happy and resolved ending where we are celebrating new friendships and relationships seemed way too warm and fuzzy for a legitimate horror film. I own all the Conjuring universe films, but I don’t know if I will buy this one or not. Still glad I saw it, but it’s a definite six out of ten and a rental rec.

Looking forward to the new beastly freak film this weekend, “Crawl”. I’m not that familiar with Alex Aja’s past films, though I did see “Horns”, which I did not like, but he also did “High Tension”, which I know is a respected film, so I am hopeful this new film will be fun and of high quality.
    Thanks Jay of the Dead
